Restaurants and nightlife in Prague
Prague is filled with inns, beer gardens and lively artist cafés, but that’s not all. For example, how about sampling traditional Jewish cuisine in a genuine kosher restaurant? Or maybe some live music with your meal? And don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy some authentic Czech food, with its king-sized servings of meat, potatoes, cabbage and “knödel” (potato dumplings). On the slightly more formal side, you’ll find a wide selection of “quality” restaurants, and for the less adventurous there are dishes you’ll recognise from back home on most menus throughout the city centre.

And after your meal, why not enjoy a night on the town? After the fall of Communism, nightlife in Prague blossomed to include a vast range of discos, nightclubs, and bars on par with that of any other major European city. But keep in mind that most clubs stick rigorously to a specific music genre, such as disco, techno, or trance, and it’s important to keep this in mind before joining the velvet-roped queue.
