Restaurants and nightlife in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is a real café town, and you’ll find countless places to have a snack, a glass of wine, or enjoy a finely crafted cup of coffee.  And when in Copenhagen, why not do as the natives do: Set Sunday morning aside for brunch and enjoy a delicious brunch platter with a large caffe latte while you consider how to spend the rest of your day.

And when it’s time for dinner, you’ll be spoiled for choice: Fast food, Michelin star dining, Danish open-faced sandwiches, Spanish tapas, Thai haute cuisine – you name it, Copenhagen has it! Copenhagen offers something for everyone, and if you're looking for a good overview just visit www.aok.dk, where you’ll find reviews and descriptions for many Copenhagen restaurants.

When it comes to nightlife, Copenhagen wakes up around midnight. This is when the city really gets going, and the festivities often go on until the break of dawn. The city is even more abuzz on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights when the downtown core is packed with happy crowds of people having a great time.

The city’s latest nightlife trends include cocktail and beer bars. The cocktail bars serve fantastic mixed drinks and the beer bars specialise in the foamier beverages, not least because many of them are attached to a microbrewery. Some of these places also experiment with beer-based dishes.
In downtown Copenhagen, nightlife is concentrated around Baron Boltens Gaard and the narrow streets off Strøget, but you'll also find plenty of hot in-spots all over town in Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Østerbro and Amager.  Just follow the music – or the crowds.
